About NNMD

Created in 2001, the District’s mission is to promote and coordinate economic growth, creation and beautification of area green spaces and promote and supplement public security within our boundaries.

The Near Northwest District’s boundaries are:

South: Pinemont Drive
West: Hollister Street (existing and planned)
North: SH 249
East: TC Jester Blvd (existing and planned)

West Little York Pedestrian Improvement
New sidewalks and bus shelters on W. Little York Road between Hollister Road and Chateau Forest Drive to support extended METRO bus service and provide connection to White Oak Bayou Trail at Hollister Basin.

The Livable Centers Study developed design recommendations, infrastructure improvements and urban design solutions that will provide residents and businesses with more appealing places for people to interact and gather.

Construct new/replace approximately one mile of sidewalks to support existing METRO bus service and provide new trailhead and connection to White Oak Bayou Trail.

The District actively works with businesses and the community at large to improve security and public safety. Maintaining a safe community is one of the Near Northwest Management District’s top priorities.
